The Guinness Open Gate Brewery seems like it’d be the favorite place to be in Chicago on St. Patricks Day.
But there’s one problem. It’s a 1.5 mile walk from the downtown festivities to the Brewery...a walk that can feel much longer in the cold, March air.
So let’s make sure it’s worth the trip.
If you can’t be in Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day, the next best place is CHIRELAND.
In its bones, Chicago is deeply Irish. Irish immigrants earned a dollar and a pint of whiskey for up to 15 hours of backbreaking work, they built the Illinois and Michigan Canal painstakingly by hand. Their sweat, blood, and very being transformed Chicago into the great city it is today.
On St. Patrick’s Day, everybody is Irish.
The Guinness Brewery invites everybody to embark on a journey to experience the spirit of St. Patrick's Day in Chicago's heart.
Feel the rich history of Ireland and the vibrant culture of Chicago as they begin to blend together.
Discover the taste of something new, and toast to those that came before.
Welcome to CHIRELAND.
And welcome home.
